Our approach
North Shore Counseling and Psychotherapy has been providing quality therapeutic services to children, adolescents, adults, and families since 2002. All of our therapists are highly trained and have been in practice for 30 years or longer. We are dedicated to providing in-depth therapy for the people we serve. Consequently, our practice continues to resist trends promoted by insurance carriers to quickly “fix” symptoms through brief, manualized approaches. Our goal has always been to faithfully help our clients for as long as our services are needed. All of our therapists work collaboratively with allied professionals when needed.
Our work is holistic, and addresses the maturational, emotional, environmental, and relational experiences that have shaped each client’s development. We help clients identify and understand the sources of their reactions. Through this collaborative process clients are able to use their newfound understanding to develop a richer sense of themselves and others, and to lead a more satisfying life.
Effective treatment hinges on creating a facilitating partnership that imbues therapy with the hope and courage that is so crucial for genuine growth to emerge. Through the relationship that you develop with your therapist, you can explore your feelings, reactions, and thoughts so that you place them in a deeper context. Therapy then naturally opens new possibilities, leading to living a life that feels more genuine and meaningful.
Practice Focus
Our therapists treat adult clients with difficult life choices, including martial/parenting difficulties, career dilemmas, health concerns, and losses. We also treat clients with depression, anxiety, social and developmental delays, life transitions, grief/losses, and trauma. Many clients seek us out to feel more authentic and vital in their lives.
We help children and adolescents who have difficulty with school, peer, and family relationships. Our therapists also help young adults and adolescents who need help in finding a genuine direction.
